# Create a Mod Preset

#### Understanding Mod Presets

Mod Presets are a collection of mods that can be mass-enabled all at once. Mod Presets are incredibly useful for users that may want to have a single-player farm with very few mods and a multiplayer farm with many mods. Rather than individually go through the "Enabled Mods" list every time you want to swap between, simply load a mod preset and have the application do it for you.

#### Decide Your Mods

{% hint style="info" %}
The following guide is how we recommend you go about creating a mod preset. Some of these steps may not apply.
{% endhint %}

* [ ] Load the "SMAPI Default" preset that is bundled with Stardew Valley Mod Manager.\
  This will disable all mods, excluding "ConsoleCommands", "ErrorHandler" and "SaveBackup" which are necessary for SMAPI regardless of what mods you wish to play with.
* [ ] Scroll through your list of disabled mods and individually select those you wish to add to the preset, and click "Enable Selected" to add them to your "Enabled Mods" list.
* [ ] Once your Enabled Mods list is all of the mods you wish to add to your preset (including ConsoleCommands, ErrorHandler and SaveBackup), click "Save Preset"

* [ ] Once you have clicked "Save Preset" you will be prompted to name your preset.

**Warning:** If you name your preset after an existing preset, it will be overwritten without warning. Please only name it the name of an existing preset if you are intentionally overwriting an existing preset.
