Enabling Mods

The Stardew Valley Mod Manager allows you to enable and disable mods without having to uninstall them. Once you've installed a mod, it will be disabled by default.

Understanding Enabled and Disabled Mods

It is important for you to understand the difference between all different states of mods. Within Stardew Valley Mod Manager, there are disabled, enabled and uninstalled mods.

Mod State
Description

Enabled

Enabled mods are installed and active. When you start your modded Stardew Valley game with SMAPI, any mods in the "Enabled Mods" list will be active in your game.

Disabled

Disabled mods are installed but not active. When you start your Stardew Valley game with SMAPI, any mods in the "Disabled Mods" list will not be active in your game. These mods remain installed however and do not need to be re-downloaded and re-installed.

Uninstalled

Uninstalled mods are mods that are no longer on your PC and have been disabled and then uninstalled. When you start your modded Stardew Valley game with SMAPI, any uninstalled mods will not be present in your game. These mods will need to be re-installed (and possibly re-downloaded if you have deleted the original ZIP from your downloads)

Select Your Mods

To get started, find the mod you wish to enable in your "Disabled Mods" list and select it.

You can select multiple mods to enable by holding the CTRL key whilst clicking on the mods you wish to enable, or by clicking and dragging over a selection if they are all adjacent to each other in the list.

Once you've selected the mod or mods that you wish to enable, the "Enable Selected" button in the "Manage Mods" toolbar will become available.

Enable Your Mods

Click "Enable Selected" to enable the mod or mods that are selected. You will see them move to the "Enabled Mods" list, being removed from the "Disabled Mods" list. Your selection will also be reset.
