The Stardew Valley Mod Manager allows you to quickly and easily back up your Game Saves with just a single click. This article will explain the process of backing up a Stardew Valley Game Save using the built in tools from the "Game Management" tab of the Stardew Valley Mod Manager.

Important Note: SMAPI will also (by default) take a backup of your farms every time you open them. These backups rotate and are only designed to be used as a failsafe for if your game gets corrupted. This article explains how to manually create a backup with the Stardew Valley Mod Manager, that will remain on your system and not be deleted on a rotational basis.

What You'll Need

To get started, you'll need to have the following:

Double check, that you have space on the drive that contains your Stardew Valley directory. You may have multiple drives with varying space availability.

Once you have met these requirements, the process of creating a save backup is quite easy.
